And we're back with another episode. Hey beautiful people, we're back with episode 103. We have done 103 episodes. 103. Okay, Jeezy.
SPEAKER_00Why y'all? Did he say 100? He don't say 100.
SPEAKER_02He said I don't I don't know what he said. I think he actually did say 103. But I know where you got it from, so that was the reference. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02You know about that album. What's the name of the album?
SPEAKER_00Trapa Dye. That is Trapa Dye. I thought it was Thug Motivation. That might be I don't know.
SPEAKER_02We need some motivation. So won't you come motivate?
SPEAKER_00I don't buy nobody CDs but Wayne, so I don't know.
SPEAKER_02First of all, that was a hard album. Like I love a lot of the problems on there. Maybe they're not. So speaking of songs, since we're here, why not?
SPEAKER_00Bints, we here.
SPEAKER_02Have you heard Pressure? I don't know the tune.
SPEAKER_00By Ari Ari Lennon's.
SPEAKER_02No, this ain't by Ari Lennon's. Um, what is this young man's name? It's actually by Big Money Blitz. When I tell you I love that song after the podcast, I'm gonna play you that song because you need to hear it. The beat goes hard, the lyrics is yeah, but it's a good song. For sure. It's a good little song to listen to, you know, while you're driving or whatnot, or you with your boot thing. But anyway, how you doing, Dre?
SPEAKER_00I'm good. I am good.
SPEAKER_02I am good as well. Um, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. We, of course, you guys heard we're back from vacation, getting back into the swing of things. Little ones getting ready to start school. I'm excited to get him out the house. I know you got to be excited.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because you've been holding it down every day with him. But yes. So, Dere, I'm curious to know. I'm gonna start you light in this episode.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna start me what?
SPEAKER_02Light.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02What's your dream vacation?
SPEAKER_00This should be easy. Any vacation is a dream vacation. Wow, any? No, okay.
SPEAKER_02You ain't got no standard.
SPEAKER_00A dream vacation is one that is like I wanna do a two-week vacation. Um probably a resort, not a cruise, where it's all inclusive, some where we have a butler, somebody's waiting on me, food there, something like that. I don't know. But yeah, it's definitely two weeks.
SPEAKER_02So mine is very, very similar. I don't know if I have like a dream destination. I do want to go to like Dubai. I've got a couple little spots that I'm like Grenada, um, St. Lucia. I have some places that I want to go, but similar to yours, I didn't necessarily say two weeks, but I definitely would love like a resort, private villa, butler service, waiting on hand-to-foot like VIP status. I would, I would love it. Um, I think as we're getting older, like the excursions are nice. I do want to get out, meet the locals, but I want time just to relax.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Like, and that's why I said, like, it don't have to be two weeks, but I want a vacation longer than a week. Maybe eight, nine, ten days, something like that.
SPEAKER_02Two weeks.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Or, like you said, a week and a half. Because we do kind of be like, oh, I'm ready to get back to the boys. Um, but I would just love the no agenda, sit out on the beach, hear the water, and then I go to sleep for a couple hours, wake up, go to dinner, go back to sleep, maybe one day. And see, when you do longer vacations, you have the ability to have like a rest day.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. And then an excursion, followed by another rest day. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Or maybe two rest days, and then go ahead and hit the excursions up again or whatever, whatnot. So, okay. So, Dre, my second. I'm curious to know. Question. Would you ever get your nuts waxed?
SPEAKER_00Ooh, by somebody else.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, whoever waxes nuts, I don't really know who does that. Actually, I do know who does it. I mean, European wax will get it done, but you know they wax for balls. Yes. Oh. You just put your legs open. They don't make it like they don't make it awkward or nothing. You just, I don't know. You ever dreamed of having like hairless, hairless balls?
SPEAKER_00I mean, if I was in like the porn business, I probably would.
SPEAKER_02Hey, now you gotta be thinking, have I ever seen somebody with hairlessness?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, if we start like an OnlyFans, then I'll probably do that.
SPEAKER_02Hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay. Okay. Okay. Interesting. So y'all only asked this question because somebody else asked it on a podcast. And I got to thinking, like, do people really do this?
SPEAKER_00So what they said, what would the response?
SPEAKER_02So there was a lot of men, there were seven men on this podcast. It was a female, um, two females interviewing a couple of different guys, and they asked each guy individually. And I think it was like five of them who was like, Yeah, I would do it. And two of them actually have done it and consistently do it. And it was like the first time, it's like, oh crap. But it's not like nobody's hitting you in them, so it don't hurt in that sense, but it is like it's like ripping hair off of it.
SPEAKER_00So right, that's the part I'm worried about.
SPEAKER_02Well, the two to get it done said you have to use soft wax instead of hard wax, which is a little softer when it pulls out the hair follicles. So I actually get soft wax done on my eyebrows, and it literally don't feel like she be doing nothing, but again, that's a sensitive area compared to some eyebrows, so I don't really know. You know, I don't I don't have no balls. But uh, not that I want you to do that, it was just a question that I thought would be interesting. So, um, how's your weeks been? We, you know, we're here.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02How are you feeling post vacation?
SPEAKER_00Ready for my next one?
SPEAKER_02Well, baby, that's literally right around the corner.
SPEAKER_00Ready for my next one.
SPEAKER_02As far as September seems, it's really not that far away.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I d I have started counting stuff in paychecks. I'll be like, I got four paychecks.
SPEAKER_00I'm neat.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I don't even be like two months. Because that's not too far. I'll be like, four paychecks for a while.
SPEAKER_00Oh goodness. Yeah, my uh countdown app saying we have 62 uh days till our uh vacation, but which, like you said, it ain't that far.
SPEAKER_02It's really not um getting stuff done. So um before we hop into our topics, I have some quick topics. So everybody knows my birthday is approaching. I'm an August Leo. Yes, big Leo, big Leo. Um and something that I've been reflecting on is how the older I get, how things really are changing. Again, these things are coming like full circle. You always hear people be like, you wake up and you need to stretch first. That is really my life. Like, them legs go over that. They, first of all, before the legs even go over the bed, I wake up and I just have to sit there for a moment, gather my thoughts, get it all together, sit up. You better not sit up too fast. You will get dizzy. Have you ever gotten dizzy?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, sitting up. Yeah, yep, yep.
SPEAKER_02Like, let me get my bearings about me.
SPEAKER_00And I I just said it, I need to stretch because like I can feel my legs are are tight.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like your calves and hamstrings.
SPEAKER_00Yep, and I I can't move them like I I need to move them. I need to go to uh massage envy. I know they're gonna tell my.
SPEAKER_02You need to go to the stretch doctor. You need a chiropractor.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But they no, massage envy do do stretches too. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, you need to get you a subscription. At one time you were talking about doing a subscription.
SPEAKER_00Oh, at one time they recommended me to get one.
SPEAKER_02What but I will I think that I think you would have done it had you done it that day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But yeah. Um, yeah, so I always tell people like now, as I get older, I kind of understand things a little bit better because definitely the getting up too fast, chewing your food too fast. Baby, let me chew this food slow. Because if I'm chewing and trying to talk, I'm gonna choke. I don't know what's happening. Wanda sites, is is it sites? No, the comedian Wanda. She on her um special, she was up there talking about how as she's getting older, she be peeing a little. This is the part of um getting older. I'm not looking for it to.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'm like, please don't let me start peeing on myself. She was like, as soon as I feel it, baby, I gotta find a bathroom. Like, we better not wait. I have got to go now because by the time I make it there, it's a wrap. Are there embarrassing things that men have?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, not really.
SPEAKER_02Y'all don't be talking about it. If the dude ain't heard nobody talk about it, listen, the women, we be over here talking about it because perimenopause is crazy. Now, let me tell you something else that I'm interested in. I keep hearing this term about frozen shoulder. I don't know what the hell that is. I don't know if it's that your shoulder don't move or what, but that's what in my mind that means because something frozen is kind of hard.
SPEAKER_00Girl, I thought you were talking about a drink. Oh, a frozen shoulder.
SPEAKER_02It's not a drink. I am done. No, and they said perimenopause. Some women have like this frozen frozen shoulder. I haven't looked it up yet, so I need to. But anyway, enough of my dancer. What you got today for us on this grand podcast?
SPEAKER_00Well, we got a fan email. Haven't had one of those in a while. So shout out to Ashley. That's who uh sent uh the email. She's from Tennessee. Um, she said that they, her and her husband, they've been married for 13 years. Uh they have a great marriage. Um, but uh she was I don't know what she was doing, but she was sound like she was snooping. And she came across some emails, uh, his emails, I don't know how he she was in his email account, but she found some pictures of you know, an email thread going back and forth, and it was a lady who sent her husband a picture of her naked. So it was a naked lady that she found. But she said it was from three years ago, so it sounded like they had something going on three years ago. Her husband and this this girl. Uh she continues to say it the communication stopped three years ago, so it doesn't appear that he's talking to her now. Should she bring this up or should she just let it fly because it happened three years ago?
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00So three what 2023? I mean, uh, this is what I say.
SPEAKER_02Why would if you the dude, why you still got something like that? Like, what do you delete anything? Do you delete emails?
SPEAKER_00No, I got like 9,000 emails in my thing right now.
SPEAKER_02Text messages? A lot of people don't delete those, even the incriminating ones. They're putting the folder somewhere, they may be in a password protected area, but people don't typically delete things, and that's probably their downfall. Right. Um, the first thing that came to my mind is this seek and ye shall find.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because open through email book. Right. What would you searching for in his email to even find that?
SPEAKER_02There is no reason why I would be going through your email.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02I can halfway see your text. Emails is kind of crazy to me.
SPEAKER_00And I don't know if this was on it. I don't know how she came about it.
SPEAKER_02And then I'm thinking, like, why would he have kept something such incriminate? Maybe he wanted her to find it.
SPEAKER_00No, not from three years ago.
SPEAKER_02Would you keep it from three years ago?
SPEAKER_00No, I have no idea.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Okay, so what should should she say something to him about it?
SPEAKER_00Right, yeah, that's what she said. She asks.
SPEAKER_02So in the past and and even right now, I'm gonna say the same thing. Are you gonna what? So if you say something to him, play the scenarios. You say something to him about it, and he was like, Yeah, it happened three years ago. What you gonna do?
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Are you leaving him? Like, what is your ultimate goal? So I always tell women this when faced with anything daunting about their husband, their boyfriend, if you're not gonna do you just want to fuss?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02Do you want to just bring up the fact that I found this evidence, you know, on you? Girl key that girl hoods.
SPEAKER_00And what are we doing? Maybe she won't close it because just because the communication stopped via email doesn't mean they're not still very much communicating.
SPEAKER_02But again, my question, my still, my thing is what's your end go? If you're gonna leave them, then sure, approach them. If you don't plan on, oh, I'm gonna fight for them. People need to get out of that whole fighting for people, like I'm gonna fight for my marriage. I mean, you can fight for your marriage. Let me not say that. I think what I'm saying, like in these instances of cheating, if you're not gonna leave that man, girl, go on. Because now we just arguing, and if it's there's no resolution at the end, what are we doing?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm gonna assume that because the communication stopped the email that they're no longer talking, and it was three years ago, I wouldn't waste that energy bringing that up.
SPEAKER_02And then I'll who is emailing pictures though? Like, that's some crazy things.
SPEAKER_00That's another thing.
SPEAKER_02Because I don't know if I'm emailing, like you might do a text message or something, but an email, I don't even email you.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02Like if we email each other stuff like something for the boys, or you know, why wouldn't you print this out? Well, but and and so I have to also think as a woman, if I seen this, would I say something? No matter the junk I was just talking about.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so I'm gonna go against the grain. I would see it and eat I wouldn't even have to write this letter to you. I would have been like, uh, Dre, what is this? Who that lady?
SPEAKER_00Oh, so you would say something.
SPEAKER_02Me personally, yeah, I would say something.
SPEAKER_00Even though if it were three years ago? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What's this? Because you said you've been faithful. What was going through? And there are there's a part of me who be like, Am I leaving him because of it? It depends. What's your response? Because I could ask you, what is this, and you could come back with actually I'm still talking to her. Right. Wait a minute, now that changes everything. Or it could be like, you know, it was a one-time thing, or you know, a couple time thing, but it's over now.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02But my question is, what made you do it and why is it over now? Because you you kind of have to hear those questions, like, what made you in? Because you could have just been like, She left me.
SPEAKER_00Oh, so you still got the cheating spirit in you, you know, or so if she left him, that means he still got the cheating.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you could have still got the cheating.
SPEAKER_00Oh, if it if he wasn't the one to cut it off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because if he said, you know, I cut it off because I was going through a period of time in my life, maybe you were absent, we weren't connecting. She gave me this spot because you hear that story all the time. She gave me what you weren't giving me. It was communication. She made me feel like a man. And then all of a sudden, yep, that's how they sound like she made me feel like a man. You was not talking about work. Well, Nica, you told me that I uh couldn't stay at home every day. Anyway, so maybe it's one of those things. I don't know. So I think it all depends on his answers. Like if you're gonna confront him on it, be prepared to hear what he got to say because he might say some other stuff that you don't like because you just came across a whole bunch of myths that you didn't even know was happening. Um, but I still in the back of my mind, there's nothing that is that fearful for me not to pick up and start over. So I say that to say, like, if if this happened and this person said to me, like, oh, I'm still talking to this person, oh, okay, we'll continue to talk to them. I'm out of here.
SPEAKER_00And honestly, I'm trying to put myself in that situation. Yeah, what would you do?
SPEAKER_02If you seen some emails or text messages, I think all my people.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna bring it up. I'm gonna bring it up. You're gonna have to, that's human nature. You wanna say something? I ain't gonna, I don't care if it were damn 10 years ago, nigga, who's gonna be able to do that.
SPEAKER_02What happens if she says, you know, you know, I know you found out my bad. We just moved to a different platform, but we actually still see each other.
SPEAKER_00Oh, well, then you gotta go.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So what if she says, Well, you know Well, you a she, you are the she girl. Okay, I'm trying not to put us in it, but you know, because I always talking hypotheticals, but if it was us, and I'd be like, you know, it was a one-time thing, and by one time, I don't mean necessarily one time, I mean like it two or three times within this short period of time, but he's gone. I came to my senses. What would your response be?
SPEAKER_00It would honestly it would depend on who it is.
SPEAKER_02Do you think you'd be mad still though?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Could you forgive?
SPEAKER_00It depends on who it is.
SPEAKER_02Who, what you mean? Is there somebody that's a non-negotiable for you?
SPEAKER_00If it's somebody I I knew I know.
SPEAKER_02Close to you, like your friend, your siblings.
SPEAKER_00But I know it ain't gonna be one of them.
SPEAKER_02You don't know. My my my game is tight.
SPEAKER_00Right. Let me stop.
SPEAKER_02Um, okay, so if it's just Joe Blow, you don't even know him. It's somebody I work with.
SPEAKER_00No, if it's somebody like we went to school with, or somebody like that.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so I just gave you a scenario. It's somebody I work with. What happens now?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna come hunting their ass down.
SPEAKER_02Not I'm going to hunt them now. What they got to do with it?
SPEAKER_00Now I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't know, Jack. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's her question. Her question is what should I do? So I think my answer to that is say something. You wrote into this podcast. Obviously, you want some type of close. You want some answers. Get the answers you seek. But go into that conversation knowing that you you may very well not get the questions because maybe he might be like, I'm not talking about that. Or maybe he'll lie about. I don't know. I think you should say something though, just because understand that he could say some other stuff that you really don't want to hear, so be prepared.
SPEAKER_00Be greedy.
SPEAKER_02Why every time I say be prepared, somebody goes straight to the Lion King, like every single time. Every time. So yeah, I I hope that helps just a little. Um if if it's and and I'm asking you how long y'all been married for?
SPEAKER_0013 years, she said.
SPEAKER_0213 years is a while. Like we've been married, what, 11 years?
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Dre, I'll be looking at you a little sideways, like you could have said like especially, I think in my case, it's like, because you know me, but you could have said something like tell me what it is. It ain't like I'm not the hardest person around, but I'm I'm very like. And what would you do? Ooh, I got the girl I want to I wanna uh too. What's I'm gonna say, why? What's going on? Like, what I is there something about me, or is this just about you? Because sometimes it's just about the man. Like, I just need to see if I still got it, or she makes me feel good, da-da-da-da. It's so much to that conversation. You you can't what I'm gonna be like, you're forbidden from talking to her. And if I dare see you on that phone, or if you sneak out of this house, what's that gonna do?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because you won't do that.
SPEAKER_02Like, as much as we want to believe that you can control your spouse or your boyfriend, you can't control nobody. Now, what I can do is tell you how that makes me feel.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02I can tell you what, you know, and but here's the thing for the woman or either for the man, that person who's not doing the cheating, I don't think you should ever turn and try to change things about you, like, well, I'll try to do this, but unless it's something that you want to change. Like if this person saying you don't communicate well or you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, but don't reinvent yourself because somebody else out here seeking other stuff, because that's their personal problem. Um, and I think we recently, full transparency had a whole conversation just about weight loss in me. Like, that's something I'm doing for me. And while you don't 100% like it, I think it I've made it very clear that it's something that I want for myself and how it makes me feel, how I look at myself. Because at the end of the day, I'm the person taking a breath in the body. I'm the eyes that look in the mirror and I have to see me, I have to live with me. Am I gonna go too far-fetched? No, but these are things like you have to communicate with your partner as you change as a person. You I'm not the same Jack that you met at North Carolina Central University. You're not the same, Dre. But as you change, I think I owe it to you as a courtesy to say, hey, these are some things that I don't like about myself. And so I may start to do, you know, so that you won't be like, oh, she's moving different. What's happening over here? Communicate that, and then it is your right to say, actually, I don't like that, and then we can come to a middle ground. So I don't think, you know, I I'm not naive to believe that if cheating were to happen, you're not gonna come to me before it happened to be like, I'm thinking about cheating.
SPEAKER_00Because who does that?
SPEAKER_02Who does that? Nobody, but I think there are signs. I think that any person who I at least Me and you, I can't speak to everybody, but I I know when you're not happy or when you're not satisfied with something, not just sexually, but just you know, in our everyday life, um I can tell when Dre is like not fully tapped in, and or I've irritated you, and then we can always, you know, me have a conversation, like, hey, what's going on? Is it something bothering you? Let me know. And then nine times out of ten, you tell me, like, girl, I'm fine. I'm just not having a good day. And I'll be like, oh, let me back off. Or this is something that I should need to tap into, and is it worth something that I want to change? Um, not saying that any of those conversations will stop you from cheating, but at least the conversation was had. So that's that that's that's in a nutshell. Um, if you need more advice or if you have more specific questions, please write in. But I think that's that's definitely all I have, unless you have more to add.
SPEAKER_00No, I think you you got it, Jack.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yes, yeah, yes. Do you have anything else for us?
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah, I got a I got a what would you do.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00I'm looking at this new show. Well, it ain't it's new to me.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I know what you're talking about. I was about to say, what new show?
SPEAKER_00You done cheated on me starting a new show, but uh uh I wonder, I said, well, oh, how would how would you feel? How would I feel? So basically, um let's say I get on a plane to come home. You already home, and I'm going on a plane uh to come back to North Carolina to come home, right? But the plane never makes it.
SPEAKER_02So I've been missing crashed?
SPEAKER_00It it doesn't crash, don't nobody know what happened to the plane.
SPEAKER_02Okay. What show are you talking about?
SPEAKER_00Manifest. Oh, okay. You claim that you've seen it.
SPEAKER_02I have well I seen season one, and I think I seen some of season two, because when you started season two, I was like, hmm, do I remember that? But it's been years, but okay. Yeah, I got you.
SPEAKER_00But it was going on during COVID.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_02So this is when I was on my maternity leave, so that's probably why I watched all of season one, but I probably fell off somewhere along the way.
SPEAKER_00And so the plane has been missing for five years. Um essentially, the government um wrote them off as, you know, they dead or whatever. The wife back home, you know, she's grieved. She had a husband and a son on the plane. They've been gone for five and a half years. They she thinks they're dead. She done moved on with her life, her and her daughter. The daughter and the son that's missing on the plane are twins. She finds her a new love interest during that time. Um, and you know, they dating, getting serious. The boyfriend gets good in with the daughter, so you know, they spending time together, boom, boom, boom, boom. Five and a half years later, the plane comes back out of out of out of space somewhere. I don't know. And they they have this thing, oh, where the hell y'all been for five and a half years. What would say the husband comes home thinking, ooh, I'm gonna have my wife ready to see me, I'm ready to see my wife. Um psyche might be. Oh, oh, and here's another thing.
SPEAKER_02Gotta be quicker than that.
SPEAKER_00Here's another thing. To the people on the plane, they've been only gone for like 48 hours.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember that because I'm gonna be able to do it.
SPEAKER_00Y'all it's been five and a half years. What would you do? And so to me, I'm like, yo, it was just the other day that we were just talking.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And you you moved on in 48 hours. So you're just cheating on me before I even left.
SPEAKER_00What what what would you do?
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. So I do remember, I definitely remember season one enough to talk about it. Um, I think I'll be confused. I don't, if I'm being honest, I don't know what I would do. So if this was me and you, right, and I've moved on because it's been five years. I know this is gonna sound crazy, but five years without my son? Like thinking that you took maybe our oldest and I still have my youngest, I think I'm grieving the loss of you, but I'm grieving my son hard. And then like this love interest comes in, and he's helping me kind of build my life back up. And so there's a connection there because obviously we bonded over rebuilding my life. Five years later, you come back in the picture. I would like to think I'm like, Joe Below, it was nice talking to you, but my boobag. But then what do you do? Because I'm pretty sure in five years, me and that person have built a connection, but it does it compare to our 20 years?
SPEAKER_00Is that yeah, like and um for the daughter, she's having a hard time when they first get back connecting with her dad because he's ain't, you know, he ain't been there, right?
SPEAKER_02Now, see, in that aspect, as a mom, I wouldn't allow one child to be like, I mean, no, you I can't force a connection, right? But you're not, I feel like she was mad, disrespectful, and the mom was just kind of letting some stuff slide. Don't do that. That's that's your daddy. Um, but yeah, I I don't know. Like, I'm saying this as somebody who hasn't survived a traumatic experience such as this plane disappearing, but I couldn't imagine, like, five years is a long time, but it's not a long time. I don't know if I could just replace you after five years. I honestly feel like I would just be singing. I don't think I'll replace you with anybody. But if somebody came back in and there's this bonding and we're growing and doing all the things, but are you just a friend? Like, and while I value the time and the rebuilding, you can't take the place of him. And you might have been there because I had some some physical needs that needed to be met. Thank you for your service, but appreciate you. My husband back, my baby daddy back. Um, and then I because I am I'm not an empath, but I do have a lot of empathy in me. Finding out that you believe it's only been 48 hours, I can only imagine what you, my friend, my spouse, my partner is going through. It's been and I would be like, Whoa, and I think I would talk to you and tell you, like, but it's been five years.
SPEAKER_00Well, and but I do got a friend.
SPEAKER_02I got a friend on the side.
SPEAKER_00They can see it because um I told you they were twins.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's an age difference. Yep, I remember that.
SPEAKER_00So the daughter, she's five years older, whereas the son is the same age as when they left.
SPEAKER_02So how would you feel, though? Be like, you know, I'm telling you, like, I've moved on for love interest, but there's still a spot for you, and I'm gonna let him go. Would you be mad that this man been over here tapping your wife for five years?
SPEAKER_00Would I be I wouldn't be mad because I could understand. It's been five years for you, so I would I wouldn't be mad. I wouldn't expect you like, oh, I'm gonna be celibate now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I don't know. Like, so what would you do in the situation?
SPEAKER_00If I'm the guy the way it's only been two days for me.
SPEAKER_02Me and the youngest went missing on the plane.
SPEAKER_00Oh, if y'all went missing.
SPEAKER_02But me and the youngest, our youngest boy went missing on the plane. It's been five years. You done moved on with with Sue as we call her, and and my son is out here being disrespectful because you know, the oldest, he don't. You ain't my mama. I ain't seen you.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna I'ma do exactly what homegirl did in the in the on the show. She was still talking to the man, but she was like, yo, I need I need some space right now because to kind of figure it out. Right, yeah. And I think that's and and when the husband came back, they was actually butting heads. She was like, bro, I don't know you like that no more.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It's been five years.
SPEAKER_00Right, so they had to get back into it.
SPEAKER_02And while things have probably changed for her, not just that, but like she's she's become a new person.
SPEAKER_00And and the daughter, when she was getting in trouble, she didn't call her dad, she called the the mama's boyfriend. But yeah, so and the dad felt some type of way about that.
SPEAKER_02And didn't she have, I think in her storyline, she had to take a second mortgage out on the house, like she was broke, and then she got the life insurance, but then they told her she had to pay that life insurance back.
SPEAKER_00She did take a second mortgage out, but for a different reason and hush, because I ain't finished the season yet. Oh, okay. Sound like about Tessa, but she did take a second mortgage out, but it was for a different reason.
SPEAKER_02For something else, okay.
SPEAKER_00Oh, so if you made it today, you made it further than that's why I feel like I'm missing.
SPEAKER_02I think I actually made the season three, but I'm only remembering bits and pieces. Yeah, I remember all of season one, but yeah, two and three might be a little foggy for me. But sometimes when I come downstairs and you watching it, I'll be like, I kind of remember that. But in this other parts, I'm like, who is this person?
SPEAKER_00This show got me in a choke code. Y'all check it out, manifest on on Netflix.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you have to. So I'll tell y'all about mine in a minute. But yeah, I think naturally, I think your response and even her response is a good one. Like, I I need some space from both of y'all. Yeah, I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do. This is my life.
SPEAKER_00This is crazy, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then you still talking to both of them, really, because somebody has been there, and you can't just negate the fact they were there for you at one of the worst points in your life, right? But then there's also your husband who was there.
SPEAKER_00Who said that? Yeah, and I ain't gonna tell you what she does just in case y'all want to go check it out. But um, yeah, that's that's some crazy work.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know. I would ooh, child, child. But and I think I would be so happy to be like reunited with my son. But even that I think would be awkward to see that he still he hasn't aged a bit in five years. Like, yeah, why didn't you grow up? What is going on here? And then of course there's some other storylines because there aren't the people hearing voices and telling them. They like prophetic words and stuff. So I remember some of it. I remember. Yeah. So my recent binge by accident is called The Last Ship, and it's also on Netflix. Um, it is a Navy, U.S. Navy movie. I like, you know, war movies, end of the world movies, apocalypse.
SPEAKER_00Now, is that the same with uh the one because you said something about a cruise hit the that's called Shipwreck. Oh.
SPEAKER_02And I highly don't recommend that anybody who likes traveling on cruises to watch it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02So I talked to some of my co-workers the other day we went to dinner, and they was like, I remember that like when it happened, because I think it happened in 2012 or 2018, something like that. Um, it wasn't too far ago.
SPEAKER_00And 2012 was a long time ago.
SPEAKER_02Huh?
SPEAKER_002012 was a long time.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so maybe it was 2018. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I feel like it was like 2018 was a long time ago to me.
SPEAKER_02Okay, it might have been, but anyways. Um, this is the uh what's it called? Costa Concordian shipwreck that happened in Italy. Yeah, the name of the boat is the Costa Concordia. Ain't got nothing to work. I ain't never heard of them. And it happened in Italy, um, off the coast of Italy in one of their smaller islands. Um, but I watched that thing and honey, I said, uh-uh, now that I got two more cruises going this year. It really made me be like, I'm about to get up here and ask these people, what's our evacuation point? Like, I'm gonna be paying attention to the muster station. Do this life jacket fit? Where are the lifeboats located? And are there enough for everybody? Because all these things came in place with that documentary. Um, but yes, that's what you're talking about, the shipwreck. And I'll tell you to watch it, but don't watch it if you're gonna be scared in September because I ain't got time. We this trip is paid for and we is leaving up out of here. But uh yeah, so the last ship is about um in America, this well, not just America, all around the world. There was a global pandemic, such as COVID. Um, but this one was killing everybody, and the Navy ship was already out at sea when it happened. Um, and so they are fighting to find a vaccine and a cure, and they are fighting the Russians, and it's good me. I don't watch all of season one. I just started season two today, I think on episode three. The storyline is good, and and I've been watching, it's quite entertaining. Um, have you been watching anything else besides Manifest? I don't think we've watched any good movies lately. If not, we've already talked about them.
SPEAKER_00So yeah. I think then we go to the movies and see something.
SPEAKER_02Oh, we went to see Toy Story Five with the boys.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, that was that was good.
SPEAKER_02That was a good one. A very, very good one. I always tell the kids now that I'm older, these cartoons though, they was made for us. They really weren't made for y'all. Um yeah, it was a good time. Um, what are you looking for in the month of the rest of July?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely nothing.
SPEAKER_02You don't have anything to look forward to? We are planning a family outing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, but that ain't it this month.
SPEAKER_02Uh oh, yeah, sure. I have a lot of travel plans coming up. So I've got my regional conference coming up the end of the month. I have the national holiday in August that's coming up. Uh aka my birthday. And we got a little family trip planned.
SPEAKER_00What family trip planned we got planned?
SPEAKER_02Well, we haven't fully planned it out, but we know that we're doing something else for the boys. So um, even though school is getting ready to start for one of our children.
SPEAKER_00Um little summer shindy before we go.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes. I'd probably like to host like another cookout or something like that. A little kick back here at the house.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, but yeah, we'll see. We'll see. Um, last but not least, I'm not gonna get into the ins and outs of the case because I really don't know them.
SPEAKER_00Oh Lord.
SPEAKER_02I remember, and we're speaking of Nolan Wells, so trigger alert for those who may not need to hear it or at a point in their life. Something about the not ready to hear it. Um, I remember going on social media and seeing Nolan Wells' name pop up, and I was like, who the heck is Nolan Wells and what is going on? And then, of course, I learned that they were searching for his body. He had witnessed and went missing, and then I see the pictures of the people he went missing with. Um, they didn't go missing, they came back, and all of them are white. And my first thought was, have we not learned that we are not safe in the presence of an all-white crowd?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02And as sad as that sounds, that is reality. I don't, if you listening to this and you don't agree, I'm sorry, but oh okay. There is no situation as a grown adult that I will be in the presence of an all-white crowd by myself. I just I don't. I I will take my chances with my own people. Because we have seen it time after time again. Who is the young lady who went to the sleepover?
SPEAKER_00Uh Tamela Horsford. Horsefoot.
SPEAKER_02Tamela Horsford goes to her friend's house, her girlfriend's for sleepover, was it? And she hung herself.
SPEAKER_00So they say.
SPEAKER_02Where were you, where was all your nine friends at when she supposedly hung herself in the backyard?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02Like, what? So I immediately stopped. I haven't even listened to any of the testimony that the boys have said, the statements that they have written or told to the police, because in my head, all I know is lies. Lies, lies. And then when you add in the fact that somebody's mama is a judge, and somebody's daddy, they got two daddies that is attorneys. Baby, we ain't never gonna know the truth. And then a couple days go by, and what we find out, oh, they found his body. And I think it was just today that we I found out in some one of the boys' statements, they was like, he never made it back to the island. But now there's a picture of him back on the island. So I'm like, well, how did he get back on the island if he never made it back to the island?
SPEAKER_00Like the girl he was supposedly last seen with stated that he now he got back on the boat and he did make it back to the island. Like, I would like we we'll never know the the the truth.
SPEAKER_02We will never know the truth.
SPEAKER_00The truth would be But at the same time we know what happened.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Ain't no doubt in my mind.
SPEAKER_00Like you I just don't understand it. Your your black sons, they are not safe in all white space.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And what to do? And I'm not don't take this message as you can't have white friends.
SPEAKER_00And and and I'm not saying that that he didn't believe that they were friends. I'm I'm pretty sure he thought they were friends.
unknownOf course.
SPEAKER_00I'm pretty sure.
SPEAKER_02I don't think he would have nobody, nobody of color is going anywhere with somebody who they don't think is a friend.
SPEAKER_00I'm pretty sure, but it's just not happening. Yeah, you it's not happening. You can't do that.
SPEAKER_02I have friends right now who are black, like me and you, who I'd be like, I'm not going over there with you, girl. That's something about that don't seem quite right. I'm not doing it. But I have more of those stories with my white friends. There are people who I consider to be acquaintances, associates.
SPEAKER_00You know how many people are.
SPEAKER_02Maybe I wouldn't go to the grocery store with you.
SPEAKER_00You know that times we went in a restaurant and seen all white people and walked out that restaurant.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You remember we was in Myrtle Beach.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And we was like, oh heck no, this ain't for us. Get on up to out of here.
SPEAKER_00Like, I'm not doing it.
SPEAKER_02It's literally a barbecue spot around the house, uh corner from our house. And I was like, I'm gonna get my husband some barbecue because I know my baby loves him some barbecue. And uh I ain't even go to the place. I looked on the website, and the restaurant was full of white folk, and I said, Yep, that we won't be getting no food from there. Not a colored insight. No, thank you.
SPEAKER_00Like, my I don't, my, my antennas, my spidey senses, it's just going off if I'm the only black person in it. Like, I don't uh I don't understand his his his line of thinking to make that decision.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you gotta have these conversations with your children and you have to let them know, like, you're not being rude or disrespectful, but be cordial. You are being safe, but do not be alone. Nope, absolutely not.
SPEAKER_00Nah, man, I got something.
SPEAKER_02I think this is the same conversation that some parents I know that I would definitely be having. I would tell my black boys, don't you be nowhere with no white girl by yourself.
SPEAKER_00Yes, no, definitely not.
SPEAKER_02Baby, I don't care if it's the elevator. Take the stairs, take the next one. Because I they'd be lying so much. Just too many times, and I'm not willing to risk your life and risk your freedom for somebody's word against yours. Take the next elevator, it ain't even worth it. Don't you do it. And and if people say, Well, you're wrong for thinking like that, then then tell your people to stop lying. Tell your people to stop killing our people, and we wouldn't have to have these conversations because I'm just not doing it. I don't feel like it's necessary when I could just tell them don't hang out with them because it's not your people, that's not where you belong. You're not safe there. It's sad, but honestly, it's the freaking truth. Um, also, I've been seeing memes and I completely agree with them. You know, I really do try to stay out of like the social disagreements that we have when it surrounds race and stuff, just because it does piss me off. But I promise you one thing, and I I'm very proud to say here on this good podcast. If my sons go anywhere with any friends, I don't care if they're black, white, Hispanic, whatever nationality you are, if you go out with six friends and five friends return and my child don't come back, baby, we we we got a problem. And baby, I'm getting ready to lose everything that I I built up in my life. Because what? You might have made it home, but you definitely not gonna make it to your next day. It's just not happening. Like, what do you mean? So I I tried to put my my my mind frame. We, you know, I go up my line sisters. We was just out there on uh, what is that, Lake Norman a couple years ago? Do you think for one second, if somebody had jumped off a boat and was drowning, that at least seven of us ain't jumped in the water?
SPEAKER_00Right, exactly.
SPEAKER_02So all y'all came back to land dry and you let your line sister? Absolutely. We are, I don't care if you can swim. Like you're in your. I have a cousin, I think she's a distant cousin. She maybe be a play cousin. I don't know. Not a part of the story. Her daughter jumped into a swimming pool when we were younger, and she can't swim, and the mama can't swim. Her daughter jumped into a swimming pool and she saw her daughter drowning. Her natural reaction was to save my child.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Nowhere in her head did she think, girl, I can't swim either. Yeah, she jumped in the water, and my sisters were they tell this story because I wasn't there, but my sister was like, We were looking at her like, girl, you can't swim either. She didn't care. Because if that's truly your friend, that's somebody you rock with, you care about, you love, you treat them like family, that's what you do. Well, we both gonna die today, I guess. Because how do you live with yourself saying you didn't do everything to save a person? My best friend has no like nothing to worry about because we're not going nowhere. Because if you don't return, I'm not coming home to look your mama in the face and say pretty much exactly.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02Do what? Yeah, no, ain't no way I can look at my bestie's mama and be like, Well, this is the story and this is what happened. Because my question is, why are you still standing here? Yeah, why are your clothes still dry? Why you ain't got no scratches on you? Nah. If I could do come back without her, you best believe I'm sitting up in a coma. Somewhere I'm in the hospital. I did everything humanly possible to save them. And I just don't feel like that happened in this case. Oh, yeah. And people take that so lightly. Um, I don't know, I just get riled up. And that's probably why I kind of keep trying to separate myself from really looking at the facts of this case because I do get upset. And I just hope and pray. Like my kids are surrounded by people who mean the best for them. And if they don't, I hope that my kids have enough discernment to get out of those friendships, get out of that situation before things turn bad. Because, baby, demon time. Prison is gonna look real good on me. Or or heaven or hell is gonna look real good on me. Because baby, we I'm on what you on. And I don't think enough of us are like that. It's a lot of us who be wanting, oh, I'm gonna go get a civil rights attorney. No, baby, you think that's the same. That's the last thing I've done. I don't need none of that. I don't need none of that. We either go into jail or hell. Which one? There's no other option at this point. Because baby, you take my kid out of here, we're all going down. And I might take a couple of your people with me. Like, I don't think there's enough of us that are radical enough to be on that right now. We're on this peace and love. Sometimes people don't need peace and love. Just the same way your kids need tough love, some of these other people need some tough love. Because baby, you take mine out of here, it's a wrap. And that's all I got to say. I don't, I don't get it. I don't get it. And I people look, we're gonna fight it in the in the court systems. That ain't gonna bring my kid back. And then people, there are some people who say you being on demon time, you being on your revenge, it's not gonna bring your child back.
SPEAKER_00But it's gonna make me feel a whole lot better.
SPEAKER_02It's not gonna make them feel bad, but I ain't here to make them come back. I'm here to make you feel my pain.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I want your family to feel what I feel right now.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_02That's my point. I could I at this point, my child is gone. We know that, yeah. I know they ain't coming back. That ain't the point of this. So I don't know. I just I and this is why I stay out of situations and I hope and and I try to raise my kids, do the right thing. But there's some people you can raise your child to do the right thing and be around, but there's some ugly people in this world. I just need them to know what to do when you get around them ugly folk.
SPEAKER_00And then another thing that's bothering me is you don't have all them white friends by accident. Like what?
SPEAKER_02But if we have this conversation, there's a lot of us black people who feel like you're safe with them.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow.
SPEAKER_02There's black people who put their kids in private schools, all white schools, or you go stay in these million-dollar neighborhoods because you're safe there. Maybe you don't you don't belong there.
SPEAKER_00Do they not know the history?
SPEAKER_02Like, I don't, I don't care how nice somebody is. Show me who they are when they backup is against the wall. Show me when you actually need help, where they actually helped you out. No. How they talk about you when you're not around. Boy, if we could be flies on the wall in some of these people's houses, you would not talk to them.
SPEAKER_00And understand, and and they gonna they gonna side with each other. Every time they're gonna side with each other. And I'm pretty sure he probably with friends, one or two might have had his back, but it was one who had some animosity for this black dude. And he probably the one caused his death or whatever like that. But them other ones ain't gonna say nothing because they gonna side with their own.
SPEAKER_02And it it's crazy though, because I think even in the black community, let's say we you we out on the lake, it's seven of us, you know, hypothetically.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02And two people get to arguing and they they throw this person over the boat. I don't think it's black people, we stand there and we just watch that shit happen. I don't care how much of a bully that one or two people are.
SPEAKER_00I'm not gonna watch that happen.
SPEAKER_02But if you're wrong, yeah. Like, and we're gonna jump into the- while somebody's trying to save the friend, the rest of us are jumping that one person. Because it's six of us.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's five of us still on the boat. One person jumped in to save somebody. Like, what? So now that makes me think all them other people that was there too, they agreed with it. Y'all implicitly went along with this place. What? And that to me is hatred, and this is why I don't trust it. Again, I ain't saying this can't happen in other cultures, but we barely, rarely see it. I can tell you what black folk do, but we ain't here to air out their dirty laundry. But know your people. And this is all I'm saying. Like, know the people that's walking the face of this earth. They ain't a situation where I'm about to be in, and I'm the only black person that just ain't happening.
SPEAKER_01Never.
SPEAKER_02And that even comes down to work. I remember one time we was uh talking about going to a conference, and I looked up there to see who the attendees are.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, baby, I ain't gonna be able to go to that conference. You not get me in Arkansas with a bunch of white people. No.
SPEAKER_00I remember being invited to to somewhere after work um by some co-workers, and these were some white people. I messaged my uh black co-worker, you going? He said he was going, so I went. And he said, No, I'm not going.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm not going to I'm not doing that.
SPEAKER_02And it's crazy because you know the conference I went to, I had to do like three sessions for a week long. I went out there to the boondocks. I literally went on that and I went because I knew one person that was black, female, that was going. And we bonded so tight because it was just like, girl, we gotta stick together because I don't know these folks.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_02These people pulling up and they got confederate flags on their truck, and that already tell me everything I need to know. I done seen too many Confederate flags and American flags. Yeah, and I love Jesus, all I'm saying. I the three do not go together.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that's the whole Trinity right there.
SPEAKER_02At that point, we was like, well, if if you going every day of that conference, we literally like, so the group talking about going to eat at this steakhouse, are you going? And if I ain't had no money or she ain't had no money, we was like, nah, she was like, Well, I ain't going either. Why? Because we're not gonna be the only black person. No. Mm-mm. I stay in my dorm room, I stay at the hotel, I don't have to be there, you know. And it's it's it's sad that you have to be like, because I don't think it always was like that, you know, because we had this whole conversation this weekend about how we used to grow up and how society was, and just it's getting worse. But you can't, you gotta have them conversations with your kids, man. No ma'am. No, ma'am. Do you have anything else to add to that? Because I can go on and on about the crazies. Yeah. So, good people, that is gonna be our episode. Um I feel like I'm leaving off on such a hostile term. I need something good to talk about. I need something good. I need something good. Do you have any good stories? A good story. I don't have any, but my birthday is coming up, and it's good for me because that's my biggest.
SPEAKER_00Well, my big 40 coming up, so September.
SPEAKER_02Old man status. Have you counted your gray hairs lately?
SPEAKER_00I ain't got none.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, the lies. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Thank you very much.
